45 MW San Carlos Solar Power Plant Project

This project is the pioneer “Large Scale Solar Power Project” in the Philippines, which serves as a shining example of the collective steps to minimize climate risk and to ensure that future generations will not be subjected to same vulnerabilities as we are experiencing now.

This project is included in the new framework of The Philippine Government and specifically under the Energy reform Agenda (ensure energy security, achieve optimal energy pricing and development of a sustainable energy plan including RES). The objective of the project is to develop and operate a solar photovoltaic power generation plant in San Carlos City, Negros Occidental, Philippines which requires the following technical assistance activities: design, engineering, testing and commissioning. (Conergy was the company providing the supplies but both companies had different contracts).

The Project is a Greenfield, two-phase solar farm located on a 35 hectare property that supplies daytime power to the local and national grid throughout the entire year. It is located within the San Carlos Ecozone, San Carlos City, Negros Occidental close to the 45 MW base load biomass power plant and the operational bio- ethanol plant with its co-gen power facility.
